GCW Calendar (updated 9/19/2024)

All our GCW meeting include Member sharing sessions on Shop/tool Safety, new tools, project Show-N-Tell presentations, and a raffle. Come join in and meet new people, learn what woodworking is all about, make new friends with a common interest, learn and share your woodworking experiences. Be sure to check out the Club Information Page for the latest GCW newsletters. The newsletters provide insight into the club activities and show club members projects.
January 9th: First meeting of the new year. There will be a presentation by a representatives from Woodcraft Supplies on Shop Safety. Note: Dues for the 2024 year are still $25.
February 6th: The will be a presentation by Manny Lavrador, Operations Mgr at Hardwoods Ranch Cordova. He will be talking about woods in general and what Hardwoods store has available for sale.
March 12th: We had a presentation on how to get started in making unique cutting boards given by members Mark Butzler and Basil Borkert.
Note: Meetings going foreword are now on the second Monday of each month at 7PM. Meetings will be at our new meeting venue. 2380 Merrychase Dr. Cameron Park, Ca. Refer to the map on the home page.
April 8th: Spring President's Project Challenge. The theme for the Spring challenge is an outside Spring project. Anything to be used or enjoyed outdoors.
May 13th: A special presidents challenge has been declared for May. The challenge is to make a jewelry box. The size, format, type is up to the creator. Let that GCW Enginuity shine!
June 10th: One of our long time members, Ron Sexton, will be giving a presentation on how to make "tambour doors".

July 8th: There will a presentation on the "Shaper Origin CNC router" product sponsored by Woodcraft. Sounds cool. Look up “Shaper Origin CNC router”.
August 12th: Member John Roberts will be discussing CNC laser engraving and cutting.
September 9: For this meeting we plan to have members bring woodworking Tips-N-Tricks to share with fellow woodworkers.
October 14th: We will be having our Fall President's project challenge. The theme is to make something for the kitchen.
November 11th: Member Jim Gott will be discussing and demonstrating the fine art of sharpening hand planes.
December 9th: This is planned to be a holiday "bring your Spouse/special guest" meeting. There will be Pot-Luck, a special guest raffle and a gift exchange. Attendees are encouraged to bring something they have made or purchased (your choice) for the gift exchange. In addition, there will be a special Christmas Presidents project challenge.
